For my horoscope I have the ideology of Positive Youth Development. Reading more about what that means, I can reflect on how I participate at my internship and apply a lot of these beliefs. For example I tend to always give positive reinforcement when working with a student or a small group. I do this because I find it the most effective to have the student understand their strengths and what can they improve by using the skills they already have. My internship also focus n the impact that the school has on the community and what the community can offer for the school. By doing this students teachers and student families have a personal connection and a bond that most middle school systems do not have. Every aspect supports each other and plays an important role in every students life. My mentor she teaches lessons that are relevant to the culture of the community the students are in rather than just any lesson pertaining to the topic. She has now a level of trust that the students have given her for being so relatable and being able to show the most positive support possible. It was not super surprising to me that I identify with this ideology because I can see those practices being made and I wish to model my lessons and ideology off of my teachers.
